The deal is

DONE. I hope you all understand this. I see some messages indicating other wise. You don't say you will make an announcement with a dead line unless it's finished. Other wise the other party has a strong advantage in their position. No, all that is being done is formalizing the paper work. Now what is the deal? I don't know but I can speculate. It will be a monster. Why? Because if this was just about price per MCF or how much LNG, this would have been done months ago. No it will be IMHO a very robust deal creating billions of $$$ in revenues for IOC. I will not go over the particulars because those reasons have been presented by many and if you have not bothered to listen or done your own D&D you don't deserve to prosper. The long longs have never been wrong. Less

JFT:

This is deja vue all over again from this fellow.

I know you mean well by quoting him but if the deal was done it would have to be announced, and it wasn't.

It might be done in the coming days but not yet blokey.

Neither of us are lawyers and it's fair to say IOC has legal advice. When it must be made public is a legal question .

Iluvioc is using common sense which is different than a legal opinion .

Back on 9/26 this gentleman said the very same thing that he believed the deal was done. This is a pure stab in the air.

I take Hession for face value when he said every day they are going back and forth and can be done. But not done yet.

It will be done when it's done and we hear. Glad to know that the deal is simplified to understand and complete per Hession again.

I am very comfortable where ioc is trading now prior to a deal. We saw this week how this stock can move quickly. We saw it in May when the term sheet was announced and it went to 106 in a blink. When the real deal is announced this thing will rocket up and not look back. Short squeeze in effect. Depending in what number Wall Street hears we will hopefully all be surprised to the upside.

JFT,
With all due respect, the deal can not be totally done IF "all that is being done is formalizing paper work". The formalization IS the legal part which is required to complete the deal. I have been through this process (in a much smaller scale) myself. Things can break down or set back at any point so it is important not to diminish the need for detail for the the entire deal to be complete.
However, making it simple to understand if it is as complex as some would state it genius. If this all goes as it seems I say hats off to MH.
“The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.”

Perhaps not entirely done, but MS coming out with report and rating suggest that their IB services were no longer needed

Here is and excerpt from the conference call. I have been wondering if someone said something he didn't intend to.

Collin Francis Visaggio - Chief Financial Officer
Yes, I can probably answer that. Look, at this point, we're working through finalizing all of our budgets for the coming year. We have released some information with respect to the work program that's underway. And that would give you some indication with respect to that work program, and there could also be other work associated with the projects and the new partner. So we're working that through our OCMs and TCMs at the moment, and of course, with the discussions we're having with the new partner.
Michael Hession - Chief Executive Officer
I think, I've been -- I'd back that up with the -- I talked about the bids that we've got on the table. And you've been -- you're aware of the financial facilities that we've now got in place. And we believe we're absolutely well-placed to undertake the activity that we've outlined so far today.

Thanks for pointing that out, Petrengr.

That adds one more reason to conclude that an agreement has been reached. I don't know what remaining contingencies remain, perhaps only approval by PNG, or final signatures, or something else that precludes it from being a legally defined "material event", but a deal has been reached, IMHO. Other reasons that lead to that conclusion are Hession's comments during the recent CC, the recent guidance by MS which indicates that they have been released from their CA, the substantial increase in the pps this past week, the abnormally high volume this past week.

I add to those reasons, "my gut feel" which processes all the other minor things that I can't adequately quantify or qualify.

I think the first deal for the third train with xom is absolutely done with all details and ownership percentages agreed to but final docs not signed yet. I think this the backbone of the lenders decision on the $250M debt issue. Having said that, I think the final decision on the second project is being made as I type with total, shell and xom all bidding on a standardized RFP. ( request for proposal ).
It is my hope that we see a two week PPS run up followed by the XOM 4.6T announcement/ PPS pop followed by two more weeks of PPS run up followed by the 2nd project announcement/PPS pop followed by a spectacular holiday for all followed by several drilling updates in jan followed by CV announcing our 8 or 10 for 1 share split.
Yes, maybe some wishful thinking with bengals colored glasses on this morning, but I think this is what we will see over the next 90 days.
Can't believe the stock market is closed on weekendsSmile

Bobby, I think you are in the right track with one additional point. I can see, if only one or two SMs are selected for the Gulf LNG deal, the remaining party (if the remaining party is not XOM who already has a deal for train 3) might try to take out IOC lock stock and barrel through the front door. THIS event could send the pps soaring. Likely not the best long term benefit for longs but short term could show the most dramatic pps elevation.
