After the shock, anger, and disbelief
#1

I'm beginning to regroup.  I was so confident that the pps would rise going into the year end, that I didn't have any downside protection.   What a mistake that was!

Looks like I've become a "longer" term investor -  after 7 years I was looking for closure and affirmation that I was right about IOC and had really hoped to take a break after the sell down and run up in price.  - With the price at 55, I don't have closure, but at least I have the affirmation that IOC had the goods and would be able to seal the deal.

Now that the shock, anger and disbelief are behind me, I'm thinking about a new stragegy going forward.  As bad as it sounds, I'm hoping the PPS stays down or even goes a little lower on Monday (sorry for anyone that has margin calls that occur over the next few days) so that I can load up.  In my opinion, the future has never looked brighter so I will have to consider IOC a longer term investment  now and try to not to follow it on a daily basis now (I may have been a little consumed).

I have to admit, I was like a deer looking into headlights on Friday, I couldn't react or do anything, but I'm really hoping I have a chance to take advantage of the price on Monday, now that I've been able to relax and put things into perspective.

With Dumas/govt. behind us, with cash coming in, with the potential of a hostile, with the string of pearls about to pay off, I'm hardpressed to find any reason to sell (not that I would at this price).

Good luck to everyone and I hope you didn't experience as much grief as I did yesteray.

Thanks for your honest post, Option.  I share your thoughts as I suspect many here do.  I trimmed off my "trader shares" (about 20% of my holdings) prematurely at $80 during the run up and have been hoping for a pull back from the ninties so i could reload before the deal announcement.  Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to reload in the fifties...but that is what i did yesterday.  I even held some back in case we revisit the forties....who knows, right?  The shorts were not about to go down easily and they did not.  I have the luxury of time and can wait this out...some cannot or choose not to.  So, it is the delayed gratification aspect of the deal and pitifully low $/mcf (at least compared to expectations) which caused the sell off avalanche orchestrated by the short supporters.

this a great deal , it will be explained

Interoil received a 30 percent interest in a two train LNG plant

add in. 73 cents per mcf for that value

understand IOC owns their NG at 5 cents and can now sell it for $19.00

You call that a low mcf deal and that's just not true

the new research reports will explan this better me thinks

the Westlake analyst had the best grip on this in Mar 2013

look at the report a 2 train LNG plant with 35 percent participation gives IOC a $177 price target

["the Westlake analyst had the best grip on this in Mar 2013"]

Indeed that's a terrific read. And their implied valuation for E/A under the heading "Deal Expectations": ... 0.60-1.10/mcf.

I can't verify the LNG plant info. I was hoping for a merry X-mass. This hurt. I just did my home work and bought back my 10$ calsl for 25 cents and sold a bunch of puts.
