New IOC vs Old IOC
#1

Hession is changing this company some say everyday . For fun lets look at some of the changes

Old IOC

promisec us a deal closure more than one time

new IOC

in 30 days when they concluded Exxon wasn't gonna work right they cut a deal with Total

old IOC

hide the well data , sign an agreement to see it ,secret stuff

new IOC

send  the data out everywhere and let everyone give you feedback

old IOC

drill 1 well at a time not use the second rig

new IOC

sell the second rig and lease rigs , currently they have secured 4 rigs and crew for 2014 and are looking for 1-2 more rigs and crew

old IOC

trying to build a new oil and NG world with smaller companies , modular , FLNG types

new IOC

sign a Super Major and sell a portion off and build a traditional LNG plant , stop trying to reinvent the wheel

old IOC

over promise and under deliver and piss people off

new IOC

under promise and over deliver and surprise people with positive results

there are many more I am sure , feel free to vent and compare here

Glad to see this post . Why the history of the IOC stock price is to recover in 7-8 weeks what's been lost. See Trans post with the history.
Remember the under promise and over deliver statement. Its prudent to think that with deal closing and receipt of the $613 million ,with at least 4 rigs drilling at the same time we have plenty of reasons for a stock price recovery. This reminds me when IOC was $8 it was the perfect time to buy.
I have always said it would take a deal closing to make a difference.

Well, I think they also had a few headwinds to deal with, but if you're right with your description of the old IOC, than I need to make a Mea Culpa to the readers here, as the old IOC wasn't a very well run company..

Don't get me wrong.  I am a long time IOC investor and certainly hope you are correct.  I would just like to see that recovery while I am young enough to actually enjoy it!  I guess I am tired of getting hammered on "good news"

I think one either believes in the resources, discovered and undiscovered, and the management, or they don't. Also, we have known for years of the "short" element and the volatility it involves. Did anyone really expect it to simply disappear with an announcement, what with the past history?

IOC is a stock that includes great potential for growth and, in perhaps a couple years or so, some great income for the following few decades, perhaps forever. If I knew of a better place to put my capital, I would have done so a long time ago.

But I have faith in the resources and future income, so am staying long and will continue to add even more on dips like this, even though I already have quite a bit on the line already. The probable rewards are simply too great to bail now.

I do wish, though, that those who like to vent and post negative remarks would reconsider. No sense adding fuel to the fire and more fear and doubt. We are each capable of deciding for ourselves whether to buy, sell or hold. Play your cards a little close to your vest and keep the negative emotions off the board, please.

That's some common sense Mr. Kommonsents!  I have only owned this stock for a little while at a cost in the 65 range so I am not ready to throw in the towl!  I do not have faith in the resource but I have faith in the people saying it is huge!  Including Total!  And I have faith in dollars, includine 613 million of them coming our way in a matter of weeks!!
