Oh where has the Volume gone ?!?!
#1

Under 5000 shares so far today.    Continuing a trend of low low volume.

They say that a surge in volume is the first sign of a stock that is going to move (up or down).

Does this say we are stuck around $65 for the near-term ?

PS:  if someone in short and has to cover in volume (say when positive well results are announced), good luck finding shares to buy Smile

I am curious if high frequency trading in the market has abated a bit due to the recent class action law suits against the exchanges. If so, I wonder how much impact that has had in the past, and will have in the future.

I think you're seeing it here in ioc.   the crooks aren't trading in a circle and being very careful.  Those are the vibes I'm getting.    ie.   They're being watched in the dark pools...

That's exactly what I think too... There is no way we ever had the reported volume we did without computers just trading back and forth with each other and running the price up and down.

I think this is a lot closer to the actual volume that always existed.

And then there is the market maker....

He loses income on the lower volume so expect wide/wider spreads on the stock and options and he will turn to options to help make up for his loss of volume.

I also expect the MM to continue to run the stock up and down to create some churn. I see that daily.

I wonder how much of the short interest is the MM.....

Hmmm. Other smaller companies like IRDM and DGI that I follow have not seen any change in average volume that I see.
