Why did IOC post the positive and excellent AFR article on it's website (a first)?
1) Cover for looming bad well results
2) Signals an official ringing endorsement of all information within article.
3) Response to Internet Forum angst

4) Hession wanted to be seen as a bad ass in black with shades, not in the pink shirt from the last two photo shoots.

Lib's #4 is my choice. Dr. Mike was just too good a metaphor to be ignored.

Dr Mike reads out board everyday and was concerned about the whiners so he did special interview for SHU which he emailed to me to post . That's falls into the LOL category.

I doubt Dr Mike would allow the article to be posted if he knew Wahoo was bad news or if he knew that it was likely to be bad news. By posting it on their website they are giving the article some credence. Since there seems to be no leaks about drilling results it must be that information is closely gurded and serious consequences for violators. i got to believe that Dr Mike and his advisers, probably their accounting firm, approved of the message

I take this as good news re Wahoo, although would much prefer a formal PR. But news of this unorthodox posting appears to be spreading, share price is up nicely on a down day for the markets

It clearly states Hession's comment that only 10% of wildcat wells are successful and he wants to make sure expectations are realistic - so that would support a "dry hole" result. It also says that the word from the north (note: not the company lol) is that Wahoo-1 is looking very exciting indeed - so that supports a great successful find. Pick whichever paragraph of the article you want - both sides of the result spectrum have been covered.
We just don't know... yet
