IR update Aug 8 2014
#1

August 8, 2014

Hello,

Normally we would not issue an IR Update on a Friday but today, August 8: the 8th day of the 8th month is considered an auspicious day in China. So, today we note that we're proud of our award-winning flagship applications, NQ Mobile Security™, NQ Mobile Vault™ and NQ Family Guardian™, and we speak of them often. Today we want to introduce you to a few of our other apps. Easy Finder, Super Task FREE and Call Blocker are some of our most popular apps.

Easy Finder & Anti-Theft: Downloaded over 3 million times, Easy Finder reduces the pain that comes with a lost or stolen device. With NQ Easy Finder & Anti-Theft, track and locate your phone by sending commands to it via SMS, or by logging in to our portal via web browser. Even with the device on silent, you can trigger an alarm that will help you find the device if it's within earshot. If it's not nearby, you can send a message that will display on the device — even if it’s locked. If a thief attempts to change the SIM card, the app's Smart Finder function will stealthily snap a photo and send it to you via email. The app also backs up your contacts and allows you to retrieve them from the web. Easy Finder’s premium feature set lets you track your phone’s location and wipe your data remotely, ensuring that none of your valuable information can fall into the wrong hands.

Super Task Killer FREE: The more apps you install, the slower your Android device becomes. With over 7 million downloads, Super Task Killer FREE mitigates sluggish performance by allowing you to stop or "kill" apps running in the background. This not only saves battery power and improves device performance, but also can also help to protect your privacy. People are often unaware that they are still logged in to social media accounts through a browser. Super Task Killer FREE allows you to close the browsers completely and keep your account safe. Even better, Super Task Killer FREE itself uses little memory or system resources. (Note that capabilities may vary between Android versions.)

Call Blocker: Have you ever wondered how to put an end to annoying phone calls? We have a solution. With Call Blocker, you can create a black list and reject, forward or even respond via SMS to unwanted calls. The app also helps you to back up your contacts to a secure server, and even transfer your data to new device. Premium upgrades give users a private, hidden place to store messages and call logs they prefer that others not see. With over 6 million downloads, On August 6, Call Blocker was the #22 top grossing Business app on Google Play in the United States.

Free versions of Easy Finder, Super Task Killer FREE and Call Blocker are all available on Google Play. We encourage all of our stakeholders to download and become familiar with NQ Mobile’s quality products. When you do, note that these apps also introduce our other applications through cross-promotion and in-app advertising. This is why our platform strategy includes multiple product offerings and applications which all work together to help drive further user traffic and engagement.

Until the next update, please e-mail questions to investors@nq.com. Please note that e-mail is preferred for your questions and comments.

While I was invested in NQ, I was getting irritated at how little they updated their IR page. The stock was tanking and NQ was silent, I really wished they had done more to ease the pain. However, this is just a fluff piece, it's not an update but rather a reiteration of NQ's products (which any investor could find on their own anyway). I suppose you can't have it both ways, but this just doesn't seem like a worthwhile piece to put on their IR page to me.

I'm highly critcal, but this is not a problem and I don't see how this can be construed as pumping or a negative, rather keeping stakeholders abreast of their products. They've redesigned some products and stakeholders should take the time to download and look at their app quality.

They are striving to be more transparent, and especially from now until they file, they have to ensure the investment community that they aren't going anywhere. I just don't agree with the criticism on this. Obviously material good information is always preferrred, but this isn't bad, in my view.
