How is this a helpful post? Seriously. "someone called me today and said that Martians are planning on coming to earth and they are friendly.". I can't reveal the source. No one else knows about this. I hope its true, about shell not the Martians.

On the one hand, we all realize:

  • The quality of the assets: Antelope
  • Antelope unlikely to be alone
  • Total deal
  • Valuation metrics put on this by reputable outfits

So we can't be too surprised should any big company make a take-over bid in that order. Shell ins't a surprise either, they opened office in PNG, signed a deal with the DPE, etc..

On the other hand:

  • It's explicitly introduced here as a rumor
  • It's unconfirmed by anyone (as far as I know)

So each should arrive at his/her own conclusions..
