Housecleaning
#1

I'm not having Bonkthegrups here. While I once thought that might be a good idea, I've seen several times from real up close what a nasty piece of work he really is and already had my suspicion that he had infiltrated here as we had a guy who was supposed to be long but said sell at every turn of the corner.

I really don't mind discussion, but that guy is not arguing in good faith, as simple as that. Amongst other things, he was the guy that accused me of being off by a factor of over 2.5 when calculating IOC's value based on GLJ's resource estimate, misusing a typo in the text and no matter how many times I showed him that the typo didn't have anything to do with the calculation, he wouldn't budge.

Then he wrote his own article with his own calculation and when using the same GLJ resource estimate his calculation ended not far from mine (within 25%). There is a lot more, but all in appropriate time, if necessary.

Is this housecleaning why reference to the new Keubiko Seeking Alpha article thread was pulled? If so I find that really both unfortunate and disturbing. First, because a lot of what Keubiko wrote IS right on the money. Second, he gave us a good laugh with the penultimate view of Waldo from the reflection in Hession's sunglasses.

Yet with all of its accuracy from the standpoint of Hession's failure to perform and the psychology of investment there are two important issues it failed to address. First, the geologic studies revealed prior to Hession's arrival and second, the motivation of the writer to spend so much time researching this junior.

As to the second issue, we all have our hobbies I suppose, and perhaps Kieubiko's is IOC. After all, IOC is a hobby of mine too. I get up in the morning and turn on SHU to see what may have happened overnight. Of course every day for years now has been February 2nd.

As to the first issue, there is no way I'd still be holding IOC without the material information released by Mulacek prior to Hession. Depression from the Hession recession? Maybe, but I control it. The hydrocarbons in PNG are just as good and plentiful as they were on the first Groundhog day, and in the movie Bill Murray did finally get the gal.

I don't mind criticism at all, Art. That's why I once thought it might be a good idea to invite him, but after a few run-ins with him and his pal, I know better.

What I do mind it people displaying extraordinary duplicity, speaking with forked tongues and not reasoning in good faith and infiltrating this board under false pretentions

Well I for one think we shouldn't  give these short sale people  the podium!  Nobody likes a low stock price except shorts and those looking to buy.  I am going to write a letter to thse Seeking Alpha people to complain!

I'm not too worried about a slippery slope here but it is cautionary that discussion of the merits of the article was shut down, no matter who started and/or participated in the thread.

Unlike some I suppose I'm ready (but certainly not wishing) to lose my entire investment in IOC. That's a lot of money to me, but I've never traded on momentum (another of my many faults) and won't start now.  There have been no substantive reasons offered by anyone to suggest the gas is not in the ground.  My chief worry remains whether huge financial interests are dedicated to keeping it there for as long as possible.

Art, if you want to discuss the article, fine with me, go ahead, start a new thread. It's not about that, it's about a guy who was here under false pretensions. I simply had enough of that.

I for one think it should be illegal to sell something you don't own.  If people want to speculate prices will fall let them do it in the options market.  The whole notion of short selling is tantamount to betting your neighbor's house burns down.  Having that legal gives arsonists a profit incentive, something which is contrary to the fundamental purpose of the equitiy market in the first place and certainly contrary to any measure of human progress.

Bet you a buck Nolan wasn't Bonk.
Bonk is smart and funny (Nolan was neither). Bonk's ego lacked in Nolan and not even Bonk could have reigned it in.

I don't actually care about that either. What I do care that he was here under false pretense, simple as that.
