The Mystery of Lin
#1

people.com (the website of China's major state newspaper) has posted an article today from china.com, which is one of the few Chinese media always in support of NQ. the article kind of sings praise of Lin's achievement. if Lin is indeed related to some corruption investigation, it can be strange for people.com to post such a third-party article.

on the other hand, if Lin is indeed sick in a hospital, why is the company so reluctant to tell the public? Lin used to have quite a lot of publicity. After his resignation news came out, many Chinese media have been trying to get hold of him with little avail.

According to Matt Matthisson it is Lin's family wish that the company not publicly comment about his departure. Matt wont confirm it is a health related departure but is totally dismissive of the anti-corruption rumours in the Chinese media. He re-iterates Lin's leaving is in no way related to the company and thinks it will not have a long term impact. My interpretation is it is health related. Reading between the lines Lin is very sick and the family doesn't want the attention.
