Nautilus Minerals is at the forefront of an exciting new industry. We are the first company in the world to commercially explore the oceans for seafloor massive sulphide deposits – a potential source of high grade copper, gold, zinc and silver.


Nautilus was granted the first mining lease for such deposits at the prospect known as Solwara 1, in the territorial waters of Papua New Guinea. The Company has also been granted its environmental permit for this site.


We are looking for highly motivated individuals with passion and drive as we move forward to bring Solwara 1 Project into production.

Exploration Manager


Nautilus Minerals is currently seeking an Exploration manager, to be based in our Brisbane office at Milton. Regular international travel and extended field work aboard exploration vessels will be required. You will be responsible for growing a Tier 1 portfolio of seafloor mineral development options, within the company’s unprecedented offshore tenement position. Initially with a focus on Seafloor Massive Sulphide (SMS) deposits in the South West Pacific. In accepting responsibility for finding and defining new mineral resources you will lead by example to deliver continuous improvement in the design and selection of exploration methods, safe and environmentally responsible execution of fieldwork and a relentless emphasis on quality with respect to fieldwork, database and reporting.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
• 10 years+ leading large multidisciplinary teams in geology and resource discovery
• Experience operating in developing countries, particularly the South West Pacific
• High level planning and project management skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Proven track record of discovery and development of complex projects
• Strong scientific skills and background, particularly in geology, geophysics and geochemistry
• Ability to accurately assess opportunities from concept to advanced prospect stage
• Strong understanding of economic geology, with an intimate understanding of volcanogenic massive sulphide and/or seafloor massive sulphide models
• Skilled at resource estimation, and qualifies as a competent geologist under Canadian NI 43-101 and JORC
• Understanding of geoscientific database systems and information presentation and analysis
• Strong understanding of costs and competent at economic analysis of likely resources
• Committed to ensuring that all exploration activities are carried out in a safe manner.

Assistant Accountant


We are currently seeking an energetic, motivated Assistant Accountant to join our busy Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this permanent fulltime position is located in our Brisbane office at Milton. This position will suit a recent graduate or an undergraduate nearing the completion of their degree, who is enthusiastic about gaining exposure to a commercial accounting environment.

Skills, Experience and Personal Competencies:
• General ledger reconciliations for all general ledger accounts are completed monthly
• Monthly journal processing
• Assist in the preparation of subsidiary statutory reports
• Preparation of departmental cost reports
• Adherence of the company’s financial risk management and internal control systems
• Engage with external auditors
• Assist with various accounting queries and assist other finance staff as required
• Tertiary qualification in Business and/or Commerce or near completion of degree
• 0 to 2 years work experience within an accounting environment
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills to deliver financial information to a non-financial audience
• Time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks

Nice employment finds seabed. Having this Technip engineer embedded in Nautilus on temporary assignment is a good indicator of the close working relationships Nautilus has with its suppliers.  Way to grow Nautilus!
