Golden Cross Formation
#1

When the 50 day average crosses the 200 day it's called a Golden Cross . That's where Interoil's stock price is . Historically a bullish indication.

Just my thoughts on ioc here.   This move has the characteristics of being a major one, but this is just the first phase. By major, I think $70 is attainable in Q3 and if reasonable success by company , 80-90 in Q4.   This is if all goes well,  Q1/2016 could be another price extension.

Now the golden cross using daily  data , I'm not a real big fan of.  the 50 day sma going thru the 200 day sma tends to be whippy, meaning it can go thru the crossing formation and somewhat higher, then give you a nasty correction before continuing on the higher path following.  I feel a 40 week, 10 week (using weekly data) is more reliable and less whippy.  In fact, the weekly data  crossing has already occurred to the upside last week.

Also important, is the crossing indicators are , imo, usually a "continuation pattern", meaning they tend to occur around the midpoint or so of a stronger move higher.  As a result, ioc can pause soon, hold a relatively tight sideways pattern,, and then come out to the upside again into another upleg.

You can also use the bollinger bands (daily) and see the timing is  similar to the price peeking out the top band for a few days, and this is usually another "continuation" pattern, meaning later a higher price.

Lastly, we would really like for ioc 200 day sma to flatten and start turning higher,  that is almost always a more dynamic rally time and leads to the big moves.   To flatten the 200 day sma in ioc, we need the price around 60 or so, and any move above 60 starts turning the 200 day sma higher.  That shold lead to stronger rally behavior.  Right now ioc needs 60 to start that, or about another 4-8 weeks time wise it appears. depending on how much further it goes.

My work today sure looks like ioc is going higher here short term, into the 56-60+ area, but this move is in its 5th obv up day and that is usually meaning the move is starting to mature.  What would finish this first rally phase off for a rest period, a nice pop higher, maybe on possibility of png news or something like that. or further ioc news.  Buying continues consistent, also hinting of higher near term.

That's all I've got for now, but it looks good for the first time in a good while to do what i say above, with good luck and news.  shorts are still harassing it, but they are much smaller factor than before.                         trans

And I thought it was multiple drill rigs, bullish AGM and a kick butt interview with Calio.

And an LNG Concept selection announced by TOT by mid-year, climbing T declarations by management, chatter in news about being a takeover target and a couple billion $ looming resource payment.

And I thought it was the discovery of a continuious high quality dolomite southern slope sector of a lagoon reef that extents from the top of the reservoir to the GWC and beyond in to Ant South.

Sure shows how wrong I can be.

The 35 TCFE on the slides and a new certified reservoir engineer on Staff has nothing to do with the recovery of the stock price . Can't be .
