Not many shorts out there by any measure...2% by total shares, less than 3 days by volume. That's got to be telling us something of value.

Short players are sometimes smarter. Shouldn't it be getting obvious that this oil route has been a big shock to the system but supply is declining as it should.

The Short Interest numbers were updated as of 2/12/2016 Settlement Date:

http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/ioc/short-interest

Short Interest: 1,882,620 (DECLINE of 116,620 shares from 29 January)
Average Volume: 372,946
Days to Cover: 5.05

NOTE: In that 10 day period, the average was 11,662 shares covered per trading day. The "Days to Cover" number is a bit misleading since if 375,000 shares were covered in one day, the PPS would go up substantially. Instead, the Shorts know they have significant time available and can slowly cover while keeping the PPS down ... or even covering while it drops further!
