In regards to the superman gene, this is a very scary concept. Consider the commercialization of this and other gene therapy. It likely would cost large sums of money and thus only be available to those that are very wealthy. The wealthy could then give their children a physical and/or intellectual advantage in life. Conceivably, this could further progress into two tiers of education or jobs, which inevitably would lead to two distinct classes in human society, those with money and those without. It then becomes easy to conclude that a child’s opportunity to succeed in life would be determined even before they are born. This, in my humble opinion, could end up being a very, very frightening future.
