We have seen it before, in the late 1980s, when Japan seemed on its way to dominate the world. Now, after the US economic (not to speak of it’s political) model is into considerable disarray, China’s rise seems inexorable. Is all that scaremongering justified? After all, this is just a country with a GDP per head of $6,546 per head, just below Namibia…
