What happens when Motley Fool pumps an illiquid stock?

This is funny, and ongoing..
Mothley Fool’s rulebrakers was onto something. A little company producing fuel injectors that can change a diesel engine into one running on natural gas. Pretty interesting, we have to admit. For the Motley blurb, see here.

We’re not sure, but we believe the company they’re talking about is Omnitek (OMTK), listed on the pink(!) sheets..

Whether it’s the company Motley is promoting or not, it sure is on fire!

It’s up from 25 cents last month to over $2 now

If this isn’t the company Motley is talking about than it’s rising in sympathy nevertheless (perhaps by misguided buyers).

You might wanna do some DD (start with the year-end report) before you do anything, here. These shares are very difficult to get hold of.

There are some reasons to doubt whether this is actually the company Motley is raving about, as the patents they’re holding (see p.6 of the 10-K) don’t seem to square with the incredible portfolio of patents that Motley argues they have

  1. As a former Director of Omnitek all I can say is I have no clue if Motley is promoting the company, but the share float is very small, 95% closely held. Lots of M&A in this space recently, perhaps they know something?
