I'm in-route to PNG right now and I'm coming back with some f*cking answers!
The tools and other equipment are still for sale on the saleyard site - so maybe they are getting ready for actually mining??  Just another uneducated guess from me.

Looks like the Nautilus New Era ship is now being chartered by Stanford Marine Group based in Dubai, if these links are accurate. The ship is classified as a "dredger".

Sycamore: unfortunately the quest continues. Never surrender!

Here are some things I found:

8.) Pictures have been removed from the DSMF gallery. First time I've ever seen a website change since the site went up. Is something happening?

Ok.  I thought you actually planned to go to the yard and ask around about the equipment. I thought it pretty cool from the latest satellite picture on google they appeared to have moved under their own power. I figured they were rusted frozen metal statues by now.

RE: Hopeful Thread - HLV - 03-13-2024

We need feet on the ground in PNG to see what's going on!

For me the last article is largely just rhetoric, but reading between the lines this is the most telling statement. The only real news of the entire article that they don't actually explain.

"But as the Canada-based parent company was dismantled in 2019, its PNG-based subsidiary, Nautilus Minerals Niugini, was snapped up by privately held Deep Sea Mining Finance (DSMF). And now, DSMF appears eager to revive Solwara 1."

RE: Hopeful Thread - Bille2271 - 03-14-2024

But are our shares still worth anything if it does pursue Solwara 1?

RE: Hopeful Thread - LongNautilus - 03-16-2024

Up 50,000% today - that's more like it! Completely ridiculous.

RE: Hopeful Thread - JJameson - 03-24-2024

This is very interesting; I have 500,000 shares and they have been valued at $50 for a long time, but recently jumped to $250 current value. It gives me hope!

RE: Hopeful Thread - LongNautilus - 03-28-2024

JJameson: that's awesome - hopefully it means good things to come!

Here is the transcript for the TMC earnings call. I still have a strong suspicion that TMC and Nautilus/DSMF are working together behind the scenes.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tmc-metals-company-inc-nasdaq-124800309.html

Some parts I found interesting. #3 sounds a lot like Nautilus/ DSMF:

1.) As we have said previously, our preferred form of financing moving forward will be at the asset level, and we are making good progress with a number of parties there. You can certainly expect to hear more about this very soon, and we've seen an uptick this year in both number and quality of inbound financing offers from institutions, including underwritten equity transactions and convertible note offers

2.) And I think what you should keep in mind is while we continue to get many inbound proposals for financing, we have our three largest shareholders who care very much about minimizing dilution. In fact, if you look at our total shareholder base, in excess of 50% of TMC shares are held either by insiders or affiliates. So there's very much a desire internally to do the right deal.

3.) When it comes to the offshore, what we are already doing, as we announced in a previous release, is looking for a second production vessel. But as we get closer to production, we're also finding people knocking on our door saying, hey, we have one of those ships exactly like the Hidden Gem, and we'd like to see it busy or we'd like to explore. Could Allseas use it as their production vessel number two? And so think of it as a cookie-cutter approach. But, and that's how we are going to do the early scale-up towards the NORI-D block. In the future, I think what we'll have is bigger production platforms as we start to drive costs out of the business, better economics. And the simple math is that we just announced that we are moving the production platform to 3 million tons. There is the possibility of moving production well beyond that, but it would not be with a boat like we have now. But for the moment, it's cookie-cutter, put more boats on the water, and it's tapping into already built, permitted, and financed onshore processing plants in parts of Asia.

Same here, I have 106,000 shares, which were worth nothing. Now they are at €9.84 which corresponds with what you are seeing.
