As we get closer to the launch of Clipstream G2, I thought the summary from famed tech guru Robert Cringely would be a great thing to read again.
" I think this is a major step, though, toward Internet simplification." http://www.cringely.com/2012/08/22/javascript-video-17-years-in-the-making/

Outside of the "finger" ad, DSNY has yet to do ANY pr for G2.
If Main St and Wall St knew about G2, it wouldn't have a $35m valuation. This isn't a knock but I don't think you understand what G2 will be able to do and what kind of work is being required. G2 isn't some app found on iTunes, it's an enterprise software solution that could go on millions of servers. Read Cringely's piece again. He was there in the days of Gates, Jobs and Wozniak.

I disagree.
Just look at our message board..it's the same 8-10 people talking here. There have been a couple research reports from Canadian brokers. Quite frankly nobody trusts Canadian stocks, and so the reports dont carry much weight. And yes, I do think Main Street will need to know about this. I remember when Shazam was a startup. They had really neat technology but their valuation went bonkers went Main Street "discovered" it. No G2 isnt a retail product, but I envision seeing "powered, protected and tracked by G2" on videos some day. As far as the CEO, he just stepped up and bought more stock. How much more confidence do you need? Here's a task for you. Go to ANY wireless carrier's website. Go to the "Phones" tab and look at the plethora of makes, models and operating systems. DSNY has to make sure G2 works on ALL of them. Then consider that DSNY has to make sure G2 works on ALL previous models..even the flip phone your grandmother uses. The biggest selling point to G2 is that it will work on EVERY device that is web enabled...I think you are forgetting that. That takes time, even without bugs! Yes, they can just launch G2 and expect to start raining money. They already have the market research agency biz (which is in desperate need of G2) and they ALREADY worked with over 150 ad agencies with old Clipstream. G2 is software..the profit margins are huge. Dont you remember Steve saying one G2 deal would be greater than all of their annual sales? I have talked with several funds that love the potential for DSNY. They get how big it could be. Their investing time frame is three years plus. They would rather pay higher prices knowing G2 has launched rather than tie up money waiting. They wont be in it for a trade. When a stock with limited fund ownership starts seeing institutional buying, the bid doesnt move. You dont have these goofy .10 swings (down) in a day because some retail investor saw a shinier stock. When funds want in a stock, that's when things get fun. YOU have the advantage over those funds by buying BEFORE G2 launches. My suggestion for those that are impatient and dont believe in G2, SELL your DSNY and buy a stock that ALREADY has a product that is established. 1548 sevted Feb 7 2013
The bashers repurchased 1/10 of their short in the last month, but almost all the shares sold today were shorted. That's new as there has been little shorting in the last week.
http://regsho.finra.org/FORFshvol20130207.txt There's only 5900 shares available for sale below 84 right now. I've noticed the tone of the bashers here has changed. They must be nervous that Clipstream might actually succeed. They are almost out of time to cover the remaining 612,000 shares till short. It would be nice if there was news tomorrow.

G2, and the concept of it, is much bigger than most realize.
By storing or embedding the video file on a web server AND enabling it to play without a "player", G2 becomes the first streaming video solution for the cloud. Think about that. There are several players that will be severely impacted when no more players are needed. Next time you watch a video, right click on it, click "Settings" and see what company is storing info on your computer. When you click on a video, chances are you are giving the owner permission to store info, or retrieve info, on your computer. With a G2 formatted video, the video is played on the Web not through your PC. Here's the irony. The info that is stored on our PC from these videos is used to track your Net usage and deliver the most relevant ads. The Java warning, uninstall notice from Homeland Security, is having a huge impact on advertisers. So you can see why G2 is the perfect solution (now) for this problem.

Good point Tim.
DSNY has several server farms around the world and they just recently bought more servers. They have taken the necessary steps to insure that record label content is sent when promised. The way I understand it is that if one server goes down it automatically notifies the others so there is no interruption. I assume they are planning for a massive amount of traffic. 1617 Vangorilla
Who stands to benefit the most from no transcoding, no content delivery fees, lower bandwidth costs, highest play rates, controlling/secure digital content delivery?
OR...who is having the biggest problem with their core business (a US Govt Agency just about said to everyone stop using their product) and could dominate the market space AGAIN with G2? What device companies would want to embed this software inside (mobile phone, webcam, DVR, TVs) What chip companies would want to license this? What video conferencing or VOIP players would want a "play anywhere" video solution for their service? What industry is losing a ton of advertising revenue because they dont get paid for the videos on the highest traffic video site? Coincidentally that industry already trusts DSNY with PlayMPE. The list of players is endless.

Brooklyn,
I understand your eagerness to launch a media campaign. And the type of media blitz you are requesting is typical for a business to consumer campaign. What Destiny has is not a business to consumer campaign. It is business to business. Which means the sales cycles are longer and the decisions are harder to switch to an 'untested' new technology. It is one thing for a consumer to pick up the latest iPad - at $300-$500 it is a relatively low risk if it is something they don't like. On the other hand a company that buys into a new technology would be investing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars - making the risk much higher. Take into consideration that the companies Destiny will be approaching have been presented with new ways to play video before and each one of them promised better play back and lower costs. Right now G2 would just be among those promising the same thing - especially without a true working example. They have a small window to prove themselves to these companies and if their product isn't up to snuff - they loose them. A smart campaign is to hold your cards until you are ready for launch - then release the lions - hit targeted companies from multiple angles - make them notice.

Intel's new TV box
Intel will be embracing the H.265 codec recently developed and just approved by the ITU, which should provide better video over less bandwidth, but will make getting support across devices a challenge. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/02/13/intel_tv/

The bbc is lobbying for a way to lock videos because the video standards have no security.
http://blogs.computerworlduk.com/open-enterprise/2013/02/bbc-attacks-the-open-web-gnulinux-in-danger/index.htm Destiny are experts with security, with multiple patents and Clipstream will be the only protected video format.

Not knowing their pricing model, this is what I anticipate.
When they do announce what they will charge for the encoder (think companies that want to format themselves like YouTube, CNN etc) AND when they announce that they will include a watermark with each video..the bean counters at the bigger firms will forecast what they expect to pay in licensing fees and realize that figure is more than DSNY's current market cap. If/when the big guys look at the numerous licensing opportunities with DSNY's "toolkit", the risk/reward as an acquisition will seem like a pretty good bet.

H.265 vs Clipstream?
http://techcrunch.com/2013/01/25/h265-is-approved http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Video_Coding
First, the browsers have to support it and currently none do.
When the new browsers come out, it can take several years until most people are upgraded. For example, IE users tend to rarely upgrade. They just use it because it came with the computer. Older devices wouldn't be compatible. A big risk to take if you're trying to get high percentage viewing. H.265 is a patented technology and they charge the browser makers a royalty even if the browser is free. They also charge the phone manufacturers and they will likely charge a royalty on videos in the future. Can you imagine how a free browser like Firefox could stay in biz? Google is on record saying they won't support H.264 or H.265 in the future. They currently support it because the Android phones use it, but they are putting their weight behind WebM. Even if H.265 became a standard, G2 still offers advantages. For example, content encoded in G2 format will still play ten years from now. Content encoded in H.264 is going to become obsolete as everyone migrates to H.265. G2 will play on devices that many not have H.265 chips, such as ebook readers, internet enabled cars, Internet TV's, etc. G2 will work on devices that haven't even been invented yet. The bottom line: encode in G2 and know the video will play on any device, with any OS at any time in the future. When the watermarking feature gets added they will be able to include the ability to track/trace/lock the video as well.

That technology is based on On2Technologies that Google bought out. We owned ONTC at the time based on their video compression technology.
There's a little history there and another reason why I think DSNY is on the radar of some of the big players. Remember a Clipstream video created 15 years ago still plays today. CS was a brand name back then. I suggest asking Steve about the history there.

If Clipstream G2 incorporates H-265 capabilities Destiny will be on the hook for the royalty payments of up to 6.5 Million per year.
Initially, Clipstream G2 will not include H-265 features since it hasn't been out long enough yet to be widely adopted. It really comes down to a decision by Destiny customers whether they also want to pay the royalty. Destiny might offer two different versions of Clipstream G2. One version with H-265 for the big players who can pay 6.5 million because they have multi-millions of videos to broadcast and one version without H-265 for the small companies who do not need the highest quality or can not afford to pay the 20 cents fee per video broadcast. There are some new challenges to work through to incorporate H-265. H-265 is designed to off-load graphic processing to graphic processing chips on new devices. All the old devices will not have that capability. So whether Destiny can use H-265 and make their claim for one video for all devices is a decision that needs to be made after Clipstream G2 is released and successful. There is plenty of business for Clipstream G2 without H-265 if they get all the current design features working. 1730 DoughDiligence
Here is a Brightcove discussion about H-265 with the following statement in it.
'Although there will be a lot of talk about H.265 this year along with some awe-inducing demos at trade shows, it is more likely to become mainstream in roughly three to four years.' http://blog.brightcove.com/en/2013/02/h-265-moving-industry-forward-not-quite-yet

I agree completely.
Having this also trade on the Toronto, Frankfurt (Germany) is a complete mess. A company located in Vancouver that trades on several exchanges does not give institutions the warm fuzzies. The mkt cap has been stuck around $40m for a while and there is obviously an abundance of stock for sale (who knows where it keeps coming from). Large volume buys are met with sizable blocks. Frankfurt is well known for naked shorting of US companies too. I would be willing to lose some Canadian and German investors if it only traded on one exchange. The company highlighted the fact that they are based (file financials) in the US, so let it trade ONLY in the US. 1764 commoncentsinvestor
Would they pay someone $6000 per month if they were in cahoots with the enemy?
