Another short raid

Hi Trans, since I can not assess this myself, how do you assess this is a short raid vs. Bad news on the rise?  Just wondering and thanks in advance!!

Eb,  There are a good number of things I look at, but won't go into all because shorts monitor this board.  But a couple:  Sept Calls have been trashed unduly imo during the last 2-3 days and the higher volume suggests the tree is being shaken by shorts covering.   Why on earth would Sept calls, that go past results on 3 wells being drilled be treated so bad? a bear raid in front of next week's conf call.  Also, short sales yesterday were over 50+% of total sales, heavily suggesting stock was being aggressively shorted, after a lengthy period of buying on the daily figures.  I follow a number of dark pools activity and yesterday  had lids being placed over the trice virtually all day, except interspersed was periods of bigger bids than asks that suggests short attacks to put ioc lower, followed by periods of accumulation with those bigger bids. I could go on with other items, but that my opinion and I stand on it.....trans

Thanks Trans, I agree this is mostly shorting.  We have seen this shorting many times before conference calls; this is not the first or the last time we will see this type of action.  Heck, previously I would be predicting a basher article would soon be released but I don't know what they have to bash anymore.

Those with balls and money would be adding right now.  I am calling a bottom and will be buy some ATM calls tomorrow.

Good luck longs.

What about the "Sell in May and go away" effect. It tends to have a greater effect on speculative stock (ones not producing yet) than on normal companies. I would expect to see more volatility in the IOC share price over the next 2 months or so than normal, just because of this effect.
