Interoil expects a replacement to arrive this week." OK - let's start the rumor that they have 'upsized' the BOP after encountering higher pressures!
John, I hear that in light of the spectacular results at Raptor-1, and the latest seismics, IOC and Total decided to upgrade the BOP at Ant-4 to give them the option to drill on down and look at Antelope Deep as well as Antelope with the well.
Is there any reason at all that the company would not be crowing about the results at Raptor if they were spectacular? If slide 16 is true then it appears they put the well in a poor location where results would be mediocre in this well. It will take several appraisal wells to define this tank. It could be very good but it may be a year or more before we know. We are seeing a trend where delays and under reporting are correlating to disappointing outcomes. Being shut down 4 weeks on a well that is supposed to take ~12 weeks to drill is really bad. I suspect the drilling and operational people who made the prior wells succeed are all gone. Does any one know? Doing a bad job on 4 of 4 wells is no good. I suspect Total and OSH are going to let their shareholders know more about IOCs screwups if they persist. This leak by OSH may be the start. Having two companies to kick IOCs ass into line might be the silver lining we were not expecting. As partners they can and will apply pressure if they think necessary. Use or flush.
