First Solar Undergoes Mother of all Short Squeezes
1:56 PM Eastern Daylight Time Apr 09, 2013
13:56 EDT - More than 35% of First Solar's (FSLR) stock float was held short as of mid-March, so it's probably no surprise that shares have exploded on the company's projection that 2013 results should smash analysts' latest estimates. FSLR was already up 7% to lead the S&P 500 ahead of the disclosure amid giving longer-term targets for production costs that investors cheered. After a dour 2011 for the stock and further declines last year, FSLR surges 48% to $40.08 in hitting a 14-month high.
