InterOil founder unexpectedly quits

This is rampant speculation on my part. I do not know Phil but from his actions in the past and what I have heard about him the only logical conclusion I can think of is that this is a prelude to a complete take over of IOC. IOC is his baby from the start...Why else would he leave and/or take a back seat?! If Phil stepping down was a contingency to just a sell down I do not think he would do it with all the potential in the Ts.
