So with this integration Shazam will have the track's prerelease fingerprint and will know about an unauthorized public release as soon as somebody asks Shazam what it is. More importantly to the label, Shazam will know immediately who was responsible for the pre-release license violation. That would seem a significant plus for DSNY.
I have to say all this Big Brother technology is disturbing. In some ways I'd rather have the government follow me than corporations whose purposes are completely cloaked in secrecy. But for now so long as DSNY doesn't manufacture tobacco products it is a candidate for my investment dollar.
