Just my POV: We are owners of shock in a company that has about 15Ts of independently verified natural gas in the ground. And yes, I know that is being conservative. The stock price is currently valuing the company at about $0.10/mcf. If you think at this point that I am concerned about perceptions, you are sadly mistaken. And while I don't agree with all of Phil's proposals (specifically the shareholders approval on the sale of >10% of assets), the changes he is suggesting, seem to benefit me as a shareholder. I used to post a statement when the price of IOC stock dropped that said the gas in the ground is safer than money in the bank. But with IOC I personally think, I could be proven wrong if we keep heading the direction we are heading; a fire sale Go Phil.

Why would professional money managers, who would seem to control well over half of the voting shares, now want to constrain the BoD of its holding when heretofore they have been content to wait and see?

Read the Australian Financial Review article and the merger talk which today can't be in Interoil shareholders best interest . A fire sale at $38 Brent . A no go .

Yes, thank you, I read all of this, just as I have read for years about the baggage relating to Muacek weighing down IOC shares, some valid, some not, imo. But address the question regarding the professional money manager. Is there any evidence that any of them have an interest in constraining the BoD?

Absolutely gobsmacked that JFT can use even the slightest negative implication when discussing IOC and it's management. Times are changing. |
