How the IOC BOD screwed the shareholders

We should all be thankful for Phil, whether you like him or not. Yea, I know he didn't monetize the asset but he did find it. For me, the worst part is the PNG Government stating they wanted two SM's which started this entire fiasco. Now, it could wind up that XOM buys out TOT for a song and who gets screwed?
Shareholders.

Why where they apparently hell bent to sell the company but refused an offer from Exxon that was supposedly better than that of Total? I could be off by a bit, but roughly monetized gas (that is, LNG) sells for 10x the amount of discoverd and proven gas, which sells for 10x the amount of undiscovered gas. We always fancied IOC to sell as much of the former to plough back into increasing the amounts of the latter, rinse, repeat. Surey that would have worked for the BOD, unless they were in a hurry or had alterior motives/incentives I'm not aware off.

The rinse and repeat metaphor was used repeatedly throughout Hession's tenure. All of a sudden he buys a boatload of stock and without discussion presents a contract to sell the company at a fraction of what he and GLJ have been saying it's worth. Gag order. $60 million gift to OSH. $50 million to himself.
Lock 'em up.

This was orchestrated by Lewis, and Byker, and the others were willing dupes that became instrumental to the process. One wonders if there were favors owed, markers called, or money promised between frat brothers of the same alma mater.? Whatever the underlying impetus, the result was that they planned this from the start and followed that plan to the letter, and the shareholders equity was turned into executive cash. Lewis & Hession and 100% of the executive team have significant overlaps in previous employers, eg: All of them worked for Woodside, half of them worked for BP.

PM pumped up the stock ( which is more than MH EVER DID). If Somare did not get sick and Duma did not get control we would likely have had a grand time. However, RDS screwed us similar to what Oil Search (and now XOM) are trying to do except that have a man (used lightly) on the inside (MH). I still like Phil and more over I respect and appreciate his standing up for IOC investors. Koodos again Phil, Thank You!!

Also, the VP for IR, Mr. David Wu was working for Richard Chandler at the same time as he was working for IOC. It seems that Chandler sold out at $62+, I wonder if he was using insider information from David Wu? Again, multiple inside sources, one of which is very close to Hession, and is not caught up in Hessions ring of insider traders.

If it is true that this whole thing is a conspiracy then why would they be sloppy enough for insider trading without covering up their tracks ?

This thread is pathetic

Mulacek's presser re the CC tomorrow is quite another. If all is as it appears (certainly all the dots connect) we vote no and move forward with Total, leaving Hession and his buddies in a world of hurt.
I have no no idea yet why you call this thread pathetic. |
