They've started to cover in the last two weeks of February (the latest available data).

Must be an uncomfortable short:

  • Tremendous rally
  • On very high volume, way above average
  • Exploding backlog, which should give considerable visibility
  • No options available to hedge

By tomorow night, they could be twisting and turning in the wind..

Forgot to add, that 12% stake of Hoving Partners, Swiss wealth managers which is run by.. non-executive director of Artilium Jean Paul Menke..

There could be a bit of a short squeeze, depending on the guidance tomorrow. So far there have been plenty of buyers, difficult to bring this down as dips are quickly overwhelmed by buyers, which of course at some stage the shorts will have to join.

We'll have to see Cann. Real short-squeezes are fairly rare so I'm not really betting on one. They might have covered more the first week and a half of March. They can't be comfortable going into tomorrow.

You may be completely and totally right. What I'm concerned about is that there might be a pump and dump going on here, maybe helped by the CEO's ahead-of-time letter? and this waterfalls down faster than it's gone up the last few weeks.

I'm NOT, repeat NOT making a comment against the INNOCENT company, and not making ANY comment on the value of the company or its growth. In the end this won't affect the longs who bought a while ago and if I'm right it will be pain for just a short time as the company itself is good and will rise. Again: I'm a complete noob as far as $TEUM goes and have NO deeper knowledge, just sharing what I'm thinking and/or seeing ...

A few remarks:

  1. The Chairman has a habit of releasing letters to shareholders, this one came when the rally had already taken the stock from $1.50 to $3.80 or so, so he's not doing the pumping.
  2. Actually, the only one who's doing any "pumping" is SHU, that is, us. I've seen few other recent bullish articles. And SHU started only when the shares were at $2.50 or so.
  3. Our "pumping" is based on data, which can be verified, and on inferences regarding to stuff like valuation, which can also be verified, even if one might disagree with the conclusions.
  4. The short position is sizable, but it's not uncommon for a stock after such a rally. Twilio also has a sizable short position, as it happens.

In short, I see very little "pump" going on, there has been considerable "dump" when the short count went up, but that got overwhelmed by buyers, and for good reason. Even in the least optimistic scenario the company will do $100M+ in revenue this year, trading at 4x sales while backlog is exploding.

That is, nothing to see here, IMHO.

No matter how clear one tries to be, things get lost in translation.

I am ABSOLUTELY ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT SURE that neither the Chairman, nor Parateum nor US (or SU in this case ... Smile ) are "Pumping." REALLY I MEAN it. I am IN NO WAY suggesting that. From things I've read here, there and places on the net, I am merely noting I am a little concerned BAD ACTORS, people who ... how can I put it delicately ... are leeches on the main healthy body ... may leap in here and pull a P&D.  TAKING ADVANTAGE of the Letter and the coming good news. I am so appreciative of this forum and how much I have learned, that I felt obligated to "Show my math" in effect as, having asked questions here, I am merely sort of explaining why I can't just say "$TEUM Long" when posting. YET. Just looking for a good price to get in and have shown up trying to decide before or after tomorrow and deciding to wait a bit is my perspective - could well be epic fail I completely concede!  Alley

And let me say something else (provide another pump, if you like). The more I think of it, the more I realize that this stock is still massively undervalued. Pareteum has a $400M market cap, Twilio has a $15B market cap, that's 37.5x Pareteum's.

But their 2019 revenue (estimated roughly $1B) is 7x-8x that of Pareteum's. Profit wise, they're ahead only a little, at best.

That is, Pareteum's stock could five-fold and only then would it come into Twilio's valuation region.

I think that valuation disconnect is due to three reasons:

  • Twilio seen as the market leader
  • Pareteum still not very well known
  • Some skepsis with regard to Pareteum's rapidly rising backlog numbers.

I think the second and third will (gradually) disappear, Twilio might keep some valuation premium for being the recognized market leader, at least for now. But not by a factor of 5x.

Don't worry about it. I write bullish articles about the company, that can be perceived as pumping, and I don't really have an objection to that, as long as people realize that these articles are data based.
