Hopeful Thread

The OTC Expert Market is about a year old and initially had 2000+ non-reporting companies moved to it in September 2021.  I'm starting to notice some companies re-emerging off the Expert Market and applying for full trading status again with the SEC and OTC Markets.  From what I surmise it requires filing up-to-date financials electronically and applying for reinstatement.  No clue if this is going to happen with nusmf, but it is taking place with OTC Expert Market companies who are "dormant" and have active tickers.....

Examples I found on Google:

1.) https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases...04764.html

3.) https://www.globenewswire.com/news-relea...Group.html

It would be nice to see a release from Nautilus. At the time of Nautilus's demise or planned takeover with the help from PWS or PWC, being the ship at 70%+ completion, that Nautilus was too complicated to disassemble. Nautilus with all of its tenements etc. This may be why we still see the name being used today. I do not understand these things very well but just a thought.

The Promise and Pitfalls of Deep-Sea Mining - The New York Times:
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/16/podca...ocean.html

Minute 21:40 on discusses 2007 Nautilus Minerals being given confidential information by International Seabed Authority on the most lucrative mining leases in the CCZ.

12 years later DeepGreen/Metals Company (old Nautilus executives) overpay Nautilus Minerals for those same leases during a shortened CCAA process.

Does this strike anyone as weird? How can two multi-billion dollar companies (Mettallo + MB) be that inept? What are we not seeing....

So would this be the final straw for us? No ship and now no leases. I would presume Mettallo and MB own the sea tools.

From what I understand it's two different mining methods Bille. The Metals Company and the CCZ leases they bought from Nautilus in 2019 are for polymetalic nodules in International Waters. Nautilus Minerals is now only targeting seafloor massive sulphides.

From dsmf.im:
"Post restructuring, DSMF has emerged as a leading developer of deep-sea mining IP via its ownership of around 12 key patents in areas of seafloor exploration, seafloor production, recovery and lifting. With over 400 SMS systems worldwide as attractive targets for possible commercial exploitation, DSMF has first mover’s advantage to access a significant deep-sea mining pipeline. DSMF has already secured the exploration rights to 19 prospective SMS systems in PNG and 25 systems in the Kingdom of Tonga. The expertise built up in these positions will allow expansion of a portfolio of prospects rapidly as business develops."

Complete speculation ahead: are TMC and DSMF/Nautilus still connected in some way? The founders of TMC founded Nautilus Minerals. Why would Mettallo & MB ever sell those incredibly valuable leases to a direct competitor? Why would they intentionally lose their first mover advantage? Why would TMC overpay for leases owned by a company going bankrupt? Does any of this seem like smart business decisions? Do both companies merger together to form a complete seafloor mining company (nodules + sms) like Voltron?? Hahaha

LongNautilus, I only know of Nautilus. I had some knowledge of multiple small entities comprising lease rights. So, who owns Nautilus? What do TMC and DSMF acronyms stand for? Could you post links to their given websites? With ocean mining, I find it hard to believe that anyone would sell their leases. Maybe it was to fund an upcoming division or to buy a ship? From what I read it looks like the ISA won't be ready by December 2023 for regulation guidelines. As always, I greatly appreciate your input, Bille

Great find seabed - thank you for posting!!

So as we all thought over the past 10 years: the technology / processes actually work! TMC brought up 14 tons of nodules during this initial test
( https://investors.metals.co/news-release...-collected ).

Question: If DSMF/Nautilus owns the patent for subsea ore recovery (lift & riser system) does tmc have to pay them for its use? Any patent attorneys out there??

Not sure if this is new or what - never noticed it before. It does seem that DSMF & The Metals Company are in fact directly linked. Holy cr*p, wtf? What does this mean- good for us small shareholders or proof of collusion?  Let's hear some thoughts

From Mawarid Mining's webpage:

"In addition, DSMF holds a ~4.6% equity interest in The Metals Company, which is listed on NASDAQ."

The Metals Company has a float of 265,530,000 shares
( https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/TMC/key-statistics ). If DSMF owns 4.6% of TMC outstanding shares that's 12,214,380 shares which makes them one of the largest shareholders ( https://www.barrons.com/market-data/stocks/tmc ). I find that information completely crazy.

Speculation ahead: Is there a chance that our nusmf shares get merged into / exchanged for shares of TMC? Given everything we know is that where this road has been leading for the past 3+ years?  Man I just don't know what to think anymore.

Never selling my shares.....
