A-7 Drilling Update
#1

Per Wu-  Total says at 7,818 feet- well below target.  No evidence of anything- but drilling will continue to another target.

A fitting conclusion to this jinxed story would be for A7 to hit a 2+ Bln bbl oil discovery, having zero impact on the deal terms.

Kaliboo -Good afternoon to you . Off topic for a moment......after our "genius" MH borrowed another 70 million, what happens(in your opinion) to our leases if IOC is forced into bankruptcy? Yes, our 'clown' ceo would lose his $30 million or so, but who would wind up owning our leases ? The government of PNG or who ?  At the rate this mess is going,it is becoming more "nutso" each day . [ Just wondering some more  ?? ] .

Chance of bankruptcy filing at this point is basically nil. The sale has been approved at a very high %. The court will most likely approve and then Exxon will own the leases through its new subsidiary

Hello Sageo.  I hope you are well.  I think Palm has it right.  This is XOM's baby or tar baby now, with all the benefits and negatives that come with it.   I sort of expected the court to decide quickly and they did not disappoint.  So let's hope they finish this appraisal process quickly too as soon as A7 is done.  I guess we can all talk about whether we get zero, 1, 2 3, 4 or maybe more USD for or CRP.  My expectation is it will be closer to zero than 5 in part based on Phil's comment about using new appraisers that XOM selects.  I agree with his view that they will be conservatively low.  At this stage of the deal I don't know if any appraiser can not be in some way influenced by the outcome of the deal.  Whatever wiggle room there is, the least persons they are concerned about are the shareholders.  Just my opinion which could be wrong.
