Excellent synopsis from poster "P3CMS" on IV:
I've been following this board and SHU and have captured what I think are the key posts/points from SHU and will share a few thoughts.
IF Hession has been approached by an outside bidder after XOM was granted exclusivity by the old regime and IF Hession closed 3 lng deals in the last 2 years without exclusivity (both assertions made on SHU), well, connect the dots. And if Hession's old boss at Woodside was an ex-XOMer, then the old boss ran Woodside similarly to XOM.
Since Hession was the #2 guy at Woodside, he would have been using/seeing the same negotiating techniques that XOM is now using on IOC. So he knows how to best counter them - he has seen 3 companies across the boardroom react to themIt's to IOC's, XOM's and PNG's highest financial benefit to get this deal done - so that to me means it will finally happen here pretty soon.
