Intel (INTC)
#1
We never fully understood the bulls on Intel (INTC) as for us, for all their technological and process prowess, there seems to be a simple but inescapable truth:

Intel is moving from a dominant (near monopoly) position in a market with high margins (PC's) that is actually shrinking to an expanding market (tablets and smartphones) with lower margins where they only have a toehold.

Actually it would appear from the article below that INTC has elected to continue to farm out its mobile chip manufacture to TMSC as opposed to its trying to enter the low margin cellphone space. Its new 14 nm line will initially be focusing on chips for the larger format computing systems. What happens when INTCs 14 nm line starts running smartphone chips? One thing for sure. I won't be needing to remember to plug my phone in every night. Another? They should be getting a lot more chips per wafer at a very low cost.

Intel (INTC) has acquired the wireless infrastructure business division of Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. The deal includes Intel owning Mindspeed's small cell base station System on a Chip (SoC) product. This is a very important acquisition because it gives Intel a future gold mine in the expanding need for LTE infrastructure deployment.
